– Spaniard Chabi Alonso has rejected Olympique Marseille’s offer to take over as the team’s technical director. Alonso commented on his decision to leave the club due to the administrative confusion and instability within the management.
Marseille’s management moved quickly to make the offer after Roberto De Zerbi’s departure by mutual consent following a heavy 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. However, Alonso immediately rejected the job. This comes after he left Real Madrid last January after a short spell of just seven months, and before that, he had a successful three-year spell with Bayer Leverkusen.
