– The MWS platform decided to withdraw Benfica player Gianluca Prestiani’s shirt from auction following controversy surrounding alleged racist behaviour towards Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior during the two teams’ Champions League clash.
The platform acted quickly after noticing a significant increase in demand for the Argentine player’s shirt, which became the most sought-after of all Benfica players’ shirts from that match. The shirt reached a price of around €1,000, far exceeding that of his closest teammate, goalkeeper Tropey, whose shirt reached €280.
