– Following Real Madrid’s recent defeat to Osasuna (2-1), journalist Julio Maldonado “Maldini” described the team’s performance as disappointing, noting that some players are no longer up to the standard required for big games.
Maldini placed most of the blame on full-back Dani Carvajal and centre-back David Alaba, noting that neither is capable of facing opponents in physically and technically demanding matches. He emphasised that Carvajal struggled against Víctor Muñoz and the team had to rely on Valverde’s help, while Alaba was easily beaten on several occasions during the match despite some periods of dominance by Madrid.
