– Following repeated incidents of racism in football, recent events involving Vinicius and Prestiani in the Champions League have prompted Brazil to fast-track the implementation of the so-called “Vinicius Law” at the national level.
The proposed law gives referees the authority to stop matches immediately after any racist attack, in addition to organising training courses for players and professionals, launching awareness campaigns, and establishing a unified protocol to identify and hold attackers accountable immediately and effectively.
