-Reports indicating the possibility of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this summer angered some Liverpool fans, as one of them reached the burning of the player’s shirt No. 66.
These fans believe that Arnold, who is going out at the Club Academy, should remain loyal to the Reds.
Former Arsenal midfielder, Paul Merceon, had a completely different opinion, as he defended Arnold in his statements to Sky Sports, saying:
“I don’t understand the cause of the problem. He gave everything he had there, and his performance was amazing. He achieved all possible tournaments with Liverpool, and he is now on his way to leave for free.”
“Look at Anthony, join Manchester United for 80 million pounds, and is now loaned, without being described as betrayal, and Arnold, he grew up in Liverpool, graduated in the Sunni groups, and made a great performance. Now, he has an opportunity to move to Real Madrid, one of the greatest clubs in the world. Can anyone refuse to do so?”
“It was crowned with the English Premier League with Liverpool in 2020, and it is likely to repeat the completion this season, and he won the Champions League in 2019. I don’t see any problem in his transfer. Really, I don’t see any crisis.”
“I do not know any player in the world, Real Madrid before. Fans should feel proud of him. He gave everything to the club, and deserves this step.”
