: Real Madrid’s penalty kick in his match against Leganes sparked widespread controversy, after arbitration analyst Perez Burole considered it a wrong decision by referee Gonzales Fortez.
The controversial shot came in the 30th minute, when Turkish Arda Guller fell inside the penalty area after contact with Leganes Oscar.
Despite the protests of the Leganes players, the referee Fortez referred to the penalty point.
But Burul, in his analysis through the “Marcador” program on Radio Marca, confirmed that the decision was not true, saying: “I do not see it as a penalty, Guller fell during a struggle for the ball, and there was no violation that required it.”
Before calculating the penalty, the result was indicating a negative tie, but the French star Killian Mbappe did not hesitate to implement it successfully, to put Real Madrid in the lead 1-0, scriving its 21st goal in the league this season.
Pablo Gonzalez Fortez, born in Gijon in 1980, is one of the Spanish league referees for the first degree, where he belongs to the Astorias Referees Committee.
He started his career in the second division, and ran 109 games before he climbed to the La Liga in 2017, accompanied by Javier Albertola Rajas and David Midier Jimmenez.
His first matches were in the Spanish Premier League between Espanyol and Leganes (0-1) on August 27, 2017.
